The candidate must have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of admission i.e. the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S.
Upper age limit: As per Letter No. U-11022/2/2022-UGMEB, dated 09 March 2022
received from National Medical Commission (NMC), Under Graduate Medical
Education Board (UGMEB) regarding the upper age limit, there is no upper age limit.Â
All the seats are allotted through State Counseling body BFUHS (Baba Farid University of Health & Sciences) and for All India Quota Seat Via MCC as per the merit secured in UNDER GRADUATE – NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG-NEET).
Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and Foreign Nationals are
eligible for admission in Medical /Dental Colleges subject to rules and regulations framed
by the respective State Governments, Institutions, and the Government of India, as the case
may be. The NRI and OCI Applicants/Candidates have to upload a Certificate from the
concerned Indian Diplomatic Mission in the country of their residence in support of their
claim as an NRI/OCI Candidate, along with their online Application Form for NEET (UG) -
2023 and retain the original of such document for producing it at the time of Counselling /
Admission to the Courses covered under NEET (UG). Similarly, a foreign applicant for
NEET (UG) 2023 shall also upload Documentary Proof (e.g. relevant pages of a valid
passport or a Certificate from the Competent Authority in the country of his/her nationality
regarding his/her citizenship status) in support of his/her Nationality, along with online
Application Form. The format of Embassy Certificate and Citizenship Certificate or any
Documentary proof of Citizenship are given in Appendix - XVII A and XVII B. Foreign
nationals may confirm their eligibility from the concerned Medical/Dental/ College/State.

This includes about 1,000 seats in government medical colleges and 900 seats in private medical institutions. Please note that exact seat counts can vary slightly annually based on National Medical Commission (NMC) approvals and new college inaugurations.
A:Â Yes, NEET-UG qualification is strictly mandatory for admission to all MBBS seats in Punjab, including government, private, management quota, and NRI quota seats. No medical college in Punjab is permitted to offer direct or offline admission without a valid NEET-UG score and participation in the official state counselling process.
- All India Quota (AIQ): 15% of the total seats in government medical colleges are filled through centralized counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). These are open to students from all over India.
