Duration and Specialization:
- MBBS Course Duration: The MBBS program in India has a duration of 5.5 years, comprising 4.5 years of rigorous classroom study and a mandatory one-year internship, preparing students for real-world medical practice.
- Postgraduate Programs: After completing MBBS, students can opt for postgraduate programs which typically require an additional 3 years of dedicated study.
- Diploma Courses: Diploma programs in specialized fields are also available, with a duration of two years.

Eligibility Criteria for MBBS in India:
- Age Criteria: Candidates aspiring to pursue MBBS in India should be a minimum of 17 years old and not exceed 25 years of age at the time of admission.
- Academic Qualification: General category students must score a minimum of 50% in the 12th grade, while reserved category candidates need to secure at least 40%. The required percentages for AIIMS are 60% and 45% for SC/ST and OBC candidates respectively.
- Subject Requirements: Candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as primary subjects in the 12th grade to be eligible for MBBS admission in India.
- Entrance Exams: NEET is a mandatory entrance exam for all MBBS aspirants in India. Additionally, candidates can also appear for other entrance exams such as JIPMER, AIIMS, Kerala CEE, Karnataka CET, etc., to secure admission in reputed medical institutions.
